Garden Party Silk Pañuelo

Texas-based artist and surface designer Mercedez Rex brings a background in photography and textile design to the centuries-old art of water marbling. Each piece captures a fleeting moment of color in motion, hand-stilled on silk, leather, or paper. Since launching her namesake line in 2016, she has collaborated with fashion and interiors brands and created custom commissions for homes and commercial spaces.

About the Garden Party design, in her own words: "The equinox is a threshold. A moment of balance between light and dark, winter and spring, rest and renewal. It’s a time to unfurl, to stretch toward what’s next, to embrace the colors of new beginnings. This design was born from that feeling."
