Large Saco in Arena

Woven by hand by a women’s cooperative in southeastern Kenya. The weavers dye each sisal fiber themselves before shaping it into this tote, so the color, the texture, and the slight variations from one piece to the next all trace back to their hands.

Founded in Kenya in 2012, Amsha uses design and business as tools for social change, providing skills training and market access to underserved artisans across Africa. Each piece is designed in the studio and handmade by artisan partners, creating jobs that help fund education and build self-sufficiency in their communities.
