Lichen Silk Pañuelo

Texas-based artist and surface designer Mercedez Rex brings a background in photography and textile design to the centuries-old art of water marbling. Each piece captures a fleeting moment of color in motion, hand-stilled on silk, leather, or paper. Since launching her namesake line in 2016, she has collaborated with fashion and interiors brands and created custom commissions for homes and commercial spaces.

About the Lichen design, in her own words: "Named after one of my favorite biological organisms, this design was made for those who prefer a neutral, earthy palette."
