Vintage Cotorra Necklace in Burgundy
Made in the Philippines during the height of the tropical and tiki fashion craze, necklaces like these were carved, painted, and strung by hand, then sold through resort shops and beachside stalls from Hawaii to the Caribbean. It features a pair of folk-art parrots perched on stacked saucer beads, meeting at a mosaic mother-of-pearl sphere. Unbranded and made to be worn on vacation, they’ve outlasted the trips they were bought on.
This necklace was found in Los Angeles, California.
